GCSE Results 2018 - 23/08/2018

Students at University of Chester Academy Northwich (UCAN) are celebrating their GCSE results today, having overcome the challenges presented by the catastrophic fire that took place in February, with resilience, fortitude and optimism. . Well over half the students at UCAN gained a grade 5 or above in English, a further improvement on 2017 results. Additionally, 40% of students gained a grade 5 or above in the challenging new science qualifications. 

Among the many successes are:

  • Tehya Martin, Caitlin Massey, Josie Leather and Oriana Brown, who gained grade 7 and above in English and Maths.
  • Top performers in Maths include Melissa Crow, Callum Clare, Melanie Sulapas, Morgan Friend, Cameron Preston and Charlotte Parker-Herrieven. 

Principal, Mrs Cath Green, said: “I would like to congratulate all of our students on their impressive GCSE results. I am very proud of both the children and the staff who have shown amazing commitment and perseverance during this academic year, despite the challenges we have faced as a community. I wish all of our students every success as they move on to higher or further education, apprenticeships and employment.”
